As reported by the Miami Herald article Commission Picks New Jackson Board
Not a single commissioner voted for Arrizurieta.

ROBAINA GUILTY OF SUPPORTING ILLEGAL GAMBLING
INBOX: "You thought it was safe to go into to the voting booth -- Hialeah Mayor Julio Robaina has racked up a new dishonor - illegal gambling - to his record of charges -- loan sharking, income tax evasion, mortgage fraud, and property taxes delinquency.
Recent ruling declaring that Robaina GUILTY of financial mismanagement seems petty in comparison to these; unless you are a Hialeah taxpayers stuck paying the bill for Robaina's proven fiscal irresponsibility and mismanagement. "
Speak Up Miami - FACTCHECK: The Miami Herald today confirmed recent TV and Radio reports that Hialeah mayor Julio Robaina has supported licensing video gaming machines in Hialeah that experts say are pure illegal gambling devices, "raising the question of whether he wants to do the same thing countywide."
Video-gaming interests are backing his bid for county mayor with BIG money. Robaina has raised nearly $1 million dollars for his campaign.

ANALYSIS: JACKSON TROJAN HORSE = $400 MILLION NEW TAX
Speak Up Miami: We want to thank our followers for bringing this issue to our attention.
Many have asked us for more details and what is the likelihood of it happening!
This weekend we found more evidence to support that Jackson Trust's push for a new $424 million special hospital taxing district is all but certain - hold on to your wallets.
The evidence is clear that a new County Commission group - Trojan Horse - is set to push through a new $424 million special hospital taxing district:
1. Jackson losing millions - only solution is new taxes,
2. New political connected CEO - ex-banker Migoya,
3. No more Trust (vote on Tuesday),
4. New 7 member -- County hand-picked insiders, and
5. Commission can't stop it.
New CEO Migoya, a 35+ year Miami banker with zero healthcare background, was picked over 2 national candidates with decades of hospital experience. Migoya, 60, political connections helped him get the job -- $590,000 a year in base pay.
Trust member Jorge Arrizurieta, Migoya supporter said he "will have an easier time dealing with the County Commission".
Remember, this is the same Jackson Vice-Chair and new Recovery Board-wannabe Arrizurieta who voted for the $424 million tax increase proposal, admitting it would "add about $300 a year to the property tax of the average homeowner."
"It's a very different environment politically, Arrizurieta said, commissioners now want to portray themselves as part of the Jackson solution." That can only mean new taxes, right?
Finally, Commission Chairman Joe Martinez, who supported Migoya from the start is pushing on Tuesday to shrink the 17-member Trust board to 7, and require a 2/3 Commission vote to overturn their decisions. This is riding below the radar.
The crying shame is that years back Jackson balanced its budget without any new taxes.
Worse is that we may not be able to stop this from happening ... what say you Miami?

GUILTY -- HIALEAH STRONG MAYOR JULIO ROBAINA OF FISCAL MISMANAGEMENT
Email: “Hialeah Mayor Julio Robaina now can add financial mismanagement to his record of charges -- loan sharking, income tax evasion, mortgage fraud, and property taxes delinquency.”
Speak Up Miami – FACTCHECK:
Hialeah’s strong Mayor Julio Robaina was in fact found GUILTY of violating contract rules when he fired 16 firefighters; as reported by the Miami Herald: Hialeah ordered to rehire laid-off firefighters.
An independent arbitrator, found that Robaina failed to show "any" analysis of savings from the layoffs, even though Robaina said the move would save $2.5 million.
Mayor Julio Robaina (in what is now commonly viewed as a political ploy to favor his campaign for County mayor) misrepresented to taxpayers the savings -- knowing full well at the time that Hialeah would have to give separation pay and then rehire to maintain staffing.
In addition, Hialeah taxpayers have had to pay $470,000 more in overtime.
Now Mayor Julio Robaina must rehire the firefighters and reimburse their back pay -- costing millions.
The arbiter also decided that the city failed on various counts (basic principles of fiscal responsibility), including:
* to make any cost analysis showing what savings the terminations would generate;
* to establish the cost-savings were legitimate reasons and financially efficient;
* to account for related costs that would reduce any savings, such as separation pay to the laid-off firefighters;
* to give proper advanced notice; and
* to include any employees who were not enrolled in the city’s deferred retirement program.
Hialeah taxpayers are stuck paying the bill for Robaina’s proven fiscal irresponsibility and mismanagement.

JACKSON TROJAN HORSE TO COST TAXPAYERS $400 MILLION IN NEW PROPERTY TAXES
Email: Beware the Trojan horse of the Jackson Recovery group. I don't trust the County or the Jackson Trust. Mark my words this is a power-grab and the final step in imposing HIGHER TAXES!!!!
Speak Up Miami: We really have to admit, at first this seemed a little over the top, but here at SUM, we did some digging. Take a look at what we found from the Herald -- Jackson seeking own tax district:
According to the article the Jackson Trust voted "unanimously" to push for a $424 million special hospital taxing district.
New Jackson Vice-Chair and Recovery Board-wannabe Jorge L. Arrizurieta admitted the proposal would "add about $300 a year to the property tax of the average homeowner." Arrizurieta the big tax-and-spender doesn't sound like the fiscal-conservative-Bush-Republican protégé he plays around town.
What's at stake -- Jackson keeps the ½ penny sales tax, County property tax revenue AND add a new hospital taxing district (like Broward) - generating new property taxes of as much as $424 million.
It is now pretty clear that Jackson's leaders have been pushing this new TAX since '09. The sad truth is that just a year ago Jackson wasn't that dire financially; having closed a shortfall and balanced its budget without any new taxes.
Now they may very well be setting up the Recovery group to push through this special $424 million TAX increase. That's 3x the amount of the Alvarez tax increase-every year for ever!!!
We need to stop this new tax increase now - even Hialeah Mayor Julio Robaina seems to be supporting the idea. We can't believe Hialeah Mayor Robaina would be "Openly" supporting raising our taxes under the guise of "Overhauling the Public Health Trust". Though, Arrizuriate is bundling campaign money for Robaina.
